    Edgewater Neighborhood To Display Its Creative Talent To Chicagoans At The Edgewater Arts Festival On July 16, 2011

    On July 16th, The Edgewater Artists in Motion and the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce will host the Edgewater Arts Festival, an outdoor fine arts event that will include more than 50 artists, many from the Edgewater neighborhood itself. The festival will take place from 11am to 6pm at 5900 N. Broadway (Broadway at Thorndale Avenue).

    The Edgewater Arts Festival features:

    Located in the heart of Edgewater, the Festival will unfold just steps from the lake (Thorndale Beach). Visitors will be able to enjoy the vibrant artistic pulse of this beautiful and historic community and then go off to discover its many nearby treasures, including sidewalk cafes, city play lots, coffee shops, restaurants, antiques stores and much more.  For a list of local restaurants and businesses, visit the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce’s online business directory.

    How to Get Here

    The Edgewater Arts Festival is conveniently located close to public transportation: Red line (Thorndale stop) and CTA Bus (Broadway 36, Sheridan Road 136, 147 and 151). Metered and free street parking is also available nearby.

    About Edgewater

    Edgewater is bursting with authenticity, diversity, and character.  The neighborhood, bordering Loyola’s Lake Shore campus directly to the south, is home to coffee shops, ice cream shops, local theatres, comic book stores, charming retail, service providers, antique stores, and ethnic restaurants offering global cuisine.  It’s all just a short stroll from the Lake Shore campus.  Explore nearby streets like Granville, Devon, Broadway, Thorndale, Berwyn, and the historic district of Bryn Mawr.  All are easily accessible by foot, bike, or the CTA Red Line.  Edgewater is also located right along Lake Michigan and offers great beaches, like Hollywood Beach, Osterman Beach, and Foster Beach.  Don’t forget to grab your bike for a fun ride along the lake shore bike path.
